Architecture and philosophy of Simplicity

Architecture is not always a building and its design complexity. Modern architecture is characterized by the very philosophy of simplicity in it.

The Japanese architect believed and believe that the philosophy of simplicity, the “soul” of a design is. To achieve this simplicity in design, creativity and imagination to connect it with the concept of architecture by the projection of the elements of the design columns, beams and fields.

Transparency Concept
Architect Charles Jenks in his book Modern mouvment en Architecture (1973) writes that the modernity paradoksil Japanese architecture. The reality of modern architecture is the architecture of Japan, but in new forms. As a form of modern expression, style of architecture used to demonstrate and highlight the elements of the design. Forms and technology with attention to detail and should be integrated with nature. This is what the transparency of the typical Japanese unknown.
After the Second World War, Japan experienced a remarkable transformation in progress. Included in the field of architecture. to accept traditional Japanese culture (Shinto) and the Buddha new concepts and modern, because there are similarities with the Japanese tradition, which is also based on simplicity. As evidence of Japanese architects are no longer wood as main material, but started with steel and concrete.

built Arata Isozaki, a Japanese architect for the museum, temple, auditorium, concerts and corporate headquarters in various world are known, the concept of simplicity. In each design, we can see that the Western culture, America, Western Europe and Japan mixture. He always combines local architecture with modern architecture.

The design is quite famous in the world, walt disney company based in Florida, USA.The structure of a firm that drew 1,200 people was by Disney employees a simple and clear structure of how Japanese architecture holds. The outside of the Disney headquarters pastel, according to the color of a typical Florida.

At the gate of the building Isozaki put two giant rat ear-Mickey Mouse mascot, which is the main Disney. While in the park in the placed part of the world’s largest sundial.

The element of transparency that is used in its design work is by the use of glass as a building material. The goal is to bring nature into the building and creating a visual relationship between the residents and the environment.

Another work, which is the term used the same Isozaki Fukuoka Sogo Bank in Fukuoka, Japan. The building is famous because he has a unique shape and color. On the external side of a wall is made of polished granite, shaped silidris smooth red contrast with the rough surface of the building like a column. The upper part consists of ten floors of stone patterned boxes are similar to traditional Japanese design made. What is special is the interior of the building. In the open space or hall known as deliberately designed to be as clean, quiet and empty, without any element of decoration with bright walls and shiny floors, patterned boxes.

Honesty Concept Structure
Kenzo Tange, and Kunia Masekawa Koyonari Kikutake is a Japanese architect, announced that treats highlight elements of the construction of reinforced concrete materials such as wood expressive.

Just look at the famous building Kikutake work, home building, called rectangular Sky House or home heaven. Construction of this house has a flat roof and the walls of the room and terrace in the center of the bottom plate so that it looks as if flying, because it is supported by four rectangular fields. Applied philosophy is the separation of visual parts of the building. Unique complementary parts house like the garage, kitchen and cellar, accidentally separated from the main building stood from this rectangular building.

Other works have that the same concept, the Izumo shrine administration building in the temple complex is located. The building was aware, however, in contrast to other existing buildings in the temple complex. In order to “unify” the old and new buildings, old wood and a flat roof with a column at each corner of the building is structurally designed.Visually separated from the wall, or better known as the inclined plane deliberately designed into the top of the building. Other areas such as reception area on the design with the grid of reinforced concrete, a closed horizontal glass surfaces. So that the sun to go completely without glare from the inside – cautiously through the bars.

Of some earlier work of Japanese architect design, a concept clearly visible separation of functional elements. But still ‘together’ through the construction of buildings such as the roof of glass and even steel frame. Although Japan is experiencing progress in freedom built, it is not always an architectural design that is wild. Since the creation of a masterpiece of design, the philosophy of simplicity, the basic concepts that are combined with modern concepts, so that the building is a “soul” that blends with nature.
